Syria Dispatch November 1: Three Announcements (from Dalton Thomas)

FAI is launching a number of new initiates in the next week in an attempt to halt or minimize Turkey’s ethic cleansing campaign that is currently underway. We will make mention of three and then move on to what is happening on the ground.

First, we will be posting short briefings daily or as regularly as possible during the current campaign. There is a considerable gap between what is happening and what is being declared by foreign governments (such as the US) and international media. We hope this will be of help in closing the gap.

Second, we have initiated a joint emergency aid initiative that will be reaching Rojava within the next 7 days. We are currently raising funds to meet the goal of the first joint mission. You can donate now here: faimission.org/donate

Third, FAI is engaged on the ground in every country where Kurds are found in the Middle East. We recognize that the Kurds—and the ethnic and religious minorities they are protecting—are facing existential threats on numerous sides. We believe that new structures and ministries are needed to engage these realities that are beyond the scope of FAI’s global mandate. While we will continue to play an aggressive role in championing the preservation of human life in the Middle East, we will be announcing a new organizational entity in the next 1-2 weeks that will exist to assist in the protection of ethnic and religious minorities in Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. Once this is launched, these dispatches as well as a number of diplomatic, political, and humanitarian initiatives now forming will migrate under this new umbrella. FAI is assisting to launch them and will remain functionally associated with them, but will not carry all of them forward.
