THE NEW MIDDLE EAST // EPISODE 3 – Salih Muslim and Syria’s Kurds

0

A year ago this week, Turkey launched an invasion into Rojava. This Kurdish territory of northeast Syria was a bulwark against the spread of Daesh’s boundaries during the ISIS years and has served to guard and protect a number of ethnic and religious minorities for several years. But when President Trump moved US troops out of the way, Turkish President Erdogan moved in on Rojava. It was a colossal disaster, despite reports of “ceasefires” and “safe zones.” There were no ceasefires. There were no safe zones. It was a genocide.

Many of you joined us in prayer, online and in-person at our Washington D.C. event in late October. Many of you gave to the thousands of dollars raised to get aid into Rojava. And you might be wondering what’s happening in Rojava now.

Tune into today’s episode of “The New Middle East” as Dalton Thomas interviews Salih Muslim. Salih is the founder and former coach-leader of PYD, the largest political party in northern Syria. He’s the most prominent Kurdish representative for Rojava worldwide—and he’s also on Erdogan’s hit list.

Hear what’s happened in the last year, and how you can pray in the weeks and months ahead.
