The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II today has drawn world leaders and as many as one million mourners. After a service at Westminster Abbey, the queen will be buried at Windsor next to her husband, Prince Philip.

Hurricane Fiona takes aim at the Dominican Republic after slamming into Puerto Rico on Sunday. Weather officials say flooding has reached “historic levels” in Puerto Rico, and the entire island has lost power.

Joint Chiefs Chairman General Mark Milley urged the US and its allies to be ready for Russian reaction to recent military losses in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Zelensky accused Russia of building “torture chambers” in areas it evacuated.

And, President Joe Biden says the US military would come to Taiwan’s defense in the event of an invasion from China.
