The Cleveland Bradley County Public Library, and Fork and Spoon, are co-hosting their second Fall Friday Family food truck night of the season on Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-9 p.m. with a film and food.

“One thing we want people to understand is that libraries are not just to go and get books” said Keisha Parks, the Master of Library Science youth services librarian at the public library. “We are like a community space, we are a space where you can make connections with other people … and also touch bases with other families in the community, because we want people to be able to just come and just make connections.”

A showing of “Where the Crawdads Sing” will play in the lot behind the library, and six local food trucks will be parked in the lot across the street from the library: Moh-Moh’s, The Hungry Hippie, Tacos el Don, Good Vibes Bobby Q,, Grindhead Coffee and Cosmic Shaved Ice.

The first Fall Friday Family food truck night of the season was held on Friday, Sept. 9. The event had five local food trucks, and a viewing of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

“I really love the idea of community” an event attendee said. “The idea of family. Kids getting to run around and have fun. It affects the community in such a positive way.”

“I really like how it’s an opportunity for local businesses to connect with the community” said Kayla Smith, a Lee University student. “As a college student, it is really fun to see food trucks right by campus.”

The library and Fork and Spoon, will co-host two more food truck Fridays this fall season. The next event is on Oct. 14, instead of a movie, the library will hold a “skate night.” The last food truck Friday is on Oct. 28, where they will play “Top Gun: Maverick.”
