1. Iger returns as Disney’s CEO

Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, will be replaced by Bob Iger after Disney’s financial performance resulting in shares falling 12%. 

On Sunday, Nov. 20, Iger “agreed to a two year contract to redirect Disney’s trajectory and to help find a new chief executive,” reports the Associated Press. 

In total, the Walt Disney Co. shares are down 40% this year. However, the stock rose 8% after the announcement on Monday Nov. 21 of Iger's appointment. 

“It is with an incredible sense of gratitude and humility—and, I must admit, a bit of amazement—that I write to you this evening with the news that I am returning to The Walt Disney Company as Chief Executive Officer,” Iger, wrote in an email to employees.

According to reports, on Friday, Nov. 18, Iger was approached by board members about a possible return, after Iger left Disney at the end of last year. Iger was the chief executive for 15 years before passing the job onto Chapek in 2020.

2. New seasonal Spam flavor already sold out

As the holiday traditions immerse, new holiday products surface. This year will include Spam Figgy pudding. 

This seasonal Spam will include flavors of fig, orange, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. 

This traditional British dessert used figs in the dense teamed cake in the past, the modern version does not use figs. 

The product has sold out both on Spam.com and Amazon. Walmart.com and eBay both appear to still have Spam left to purchase. 

The Washington Post's reviewer described the Spam as "an intense faux-orange flavor that brought to mind those horrifically dyed and colored candied fruits that somehow make their way into objectionable holiday sweets, backed by a discordant chorus of baking spices."

3. Turkeys pardoned at the White House 

On Monday, November 21, President Joe Biden pardoned a pair of turkeys, named Chocolate and Chip, as it is White House tradition.

"The votes are in. They've been counted and verified. There's no ballot stuffing. There's no 'fowl' play," said president Biden. 

Chocolate and Chip, from North Carolina, were pardoned on the South Lawn of the White House. 

Before the pardon, “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd was performed by the U.S. military band. 

“But Chocolate, weighing in at 46 pounds (21 kg), and Chip, at 47 pounds, will live out their lives in their home state, at North Carolina State University. The White House turkey pardon is a tradition that dates back decades,” reports Reuters
