#Debt Limit Reached, #Israeli Leader Disqualified, and a New #Aide Package for #Ukraine #shorts
January 19, 2023 – The federal government is expected to reach its spending limit today, with Democrats and the GOP in a standoff. The White House wants Congress to raise the debt ceiling again to avoid default, while House Republicans insist that spending cuts be part of the mix.
Israel’s High Court ruled Wednesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must fire ultra-Orthodox Shas Party leader Aryeh Deri, who holds two key positions in the new government. The ruling is likely to fuel secular-religious and ethnic tensions.
And the Biden administration plans to announce a multi-billion dollar Ukraine aid package this week. It’s expected to include Stryker combat vehicles and Bradley armored tanks to help the Ukraine military better maneuver on the front lines against Russia.
