#Biden Energy Mandate Draws Fire, North #Korea Show of Force, and #Storms Refill #Reservoirs #shorts
North Korea launched an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Thursday in an apparent show of strength as South Korea and Japan prepared for a security summit in Seoul. At the same time, the U.S. and South Korea are holding a large joint military exercise, which Pyongyang says is preparation for an invasion.
The Biden Energy Department’s proposed mandate to sharply reduce water use in U.S. washing machines is drawing fire. Meanwhile, some are calling a previously proposed tightening of regulations for gas stoves an “outright ban.”
And scientists say the deluge of storms that hit California and other areas of the West this winter has partially refilled many of the nation’s largest reservoirs, depleted by years of drought. Still, experts caution the bountiful water addition isn’t enough to fill the largest reservoirs such as Lake Mead.
