Treasury Secretary Yellen went before lawmakers to defend the Biden administration’s response to the second-largest banking collapse in U.S. history. In a Senate hearing, she assured concerned senators that the nation’s financial system is “sound,” and that Americans will be able to retrieve their deposits when they need them.
Security concerns about TikTok have prompted the U.K. and New Zealand to join the U.S. in restricting its use on government devices. President Joe Biden has threatened a total ban unless the company is sold.
And seven Virginia sheriff’s deputies are facing trial for 2nd degree murder after a Black man was “smothered” while in their custody, according to prosecutors. Irvo Otieno died March 6th in a mental health facility during an intake process after being transferred from a county jail.
