The United Kingdom is in mourning today after Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-serving monarch, passed away at 96. Condolences continue to pour out from around the globe as King Charles III takes the throne, ushering in a new era of the British monarchy.

The Justice Department on Thursday filed a motion to appeal a judge’s decision allowing an independent third party to review records seized by the FBI from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Estate. The department also asked the judge to put a hold on part of her order halting its criminal investigation into whether Trump mishandled the classified documents.

And, longtime Trump ally Steve Bannon pleaded not guilty Thursday to an alleged plot to defraud donors who gave money to build a wall on the southern US border.
