Evangel’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAG) has been renamed College of Online Learning (COL) as its digital and online focus is expanding.

Evangel University’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) recently updated its name to the College of Online Learning (COL), with an increased focus on expanding its digital presence and online degree options.

“With an increase of focus on affordability and flexibility, now is a great time to expand our digital presence by growing our online undergraduate programming and services,” Lisa Tyson, dean of the College of Online Learning, said. “We changed the name of our college to reflect this focus.”

Elevating the student experience is one of five key initiatives set into motion by Evangel’s president, Mike Rakes. To this end, the university will also establish an online and graduate student service center that will be staffed by enrollment, advising, and other student services. The center will enhance student recruitment and retention for undergraduate online, graduate, and seminary programs.

“The structural change from CAGS to COL and the addition of the service center will allow us more time to focus on elevating the student experience for our online undergraduate learners and add in-demand academic programs that meet the needs of students and the organizations who hire them,” Tyson said.

COL will also introduce a new structure for undergraduate online courses. Beginning this fall, courses will follow a seven-week model instead of a five-week model, allowing time for a mid-semester break.

The new model creates opportunities for students to get further faster and increases access to additional funding opportunities.
