Media coverage of the Atlanta shooter has highlighted issues of anti-Asian prejudice in America and abuse of women. Sometimes it has also mentioned the shooter’s belief, based on religious ideas, about destroying the “sources” of his “temptation.” Sure enough, the Bible has been abused in this country for anti-Asian prejudice and misogyny.
