Republicans are closing in on a narrow win in their bid to control the House of Representatives. The Senate may hang in the balance until December 6, when a runoff in Georgia could decide the chamber’s fate.
Gov. Ron DeSantis issued another state of emergency for large parts of Florida as Hurricane Nicole began pounding beaches in the Sunshine State.
Russia says it will withdraw its military from Kherson, the only regional capital it has occupied in Ukraine. It would be a major setback for Moscow, but the government in Kyiv is skeptical, cautioning that it may be a trap for Ukrainian forces.
And Israel’s President Isaac Herzog is expected to give Benjamin Netanyahu the mandate to form a government on Sunday after talks with parties entering the next Knesset.
