Biden Moves to Head Off National Rail Strike
President Biden is pushing the Senate to pass a bill that would thwart a nationwide rail strike that could happen as early as next week.
On Wednesday, the House passed a measure that would force rail companies and workers to adhere to a proposed settlement reached in September that most of the unions approved.
Biden is sending Cabinet members to lobby senators, saying a vote in the next few days is crucial. The 12 unions representing approximately 115,000 railroad employees have threatened to strike unless an agreement is reached by a Dec. 9th deadline.
