I cannot find a scripture in the bible that states God has forgiven your future sins, can someone help me out ??

Hebrews 10:10,14,18. Mark 1:4,8

Yeah that helps thanks, hebrews was a good one

Marc Alfano [08/20/2015 3:45 AM]
I was looking for the scripture:
“The Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world.”

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 3:49 AM]
Peter I think 🙂

Marc Alfano [08/20/2015 3:52 AM]
An interesting one is Rev. 22:11-13
Linear time does not exist in eternity. You are in one state of being or another. John 18:36

Anna Mae Slate [08/20/2015 8:45 AM]
Our LORD died for all and for all sin. HE PAID IT ALL. Nothing is left to do for us but to come and get his own. AMEN.

Charles Page [08/20/2015 11:10 AM]
Nothing is left to do!!! substitutionary atonement

Marc Alfano [08/20/2015 11:22 AM]
Actually there is……. You have to receive it!
“Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved, you and your household.”

Charles Page [08/20/2015 5:30 PM]
I thought we were saved by grace and not by any works of righteousness.

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:36 PM]
We are saved by Grace through faith, and an expression of our faith in Jesus is that we repent and turn from our sin. James said “show me your faith without works and I’ll show you my faith by my works”

We are not saved by our works, however the grace of God empowers us to do the works of faith and an example of that is conducting ourselves in a way that doesn’t lead us to sin and also leads others to Jesus.

Charles Page [08/20/2015 5:37 PM]
we are empowered to repentance by the new birth. We repent because we are born again not born again because we repent.

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:38 PM]
Jesus showed grace to the woman in adultery by forgiving her, but also instructed her “go away and sin no more” fare to say that she was saved from death and he’ll and no doubt repented, what was left is that she conduct herself in a manner worthy of the calling that God had given her in Christ.

Marc Alfano [08/20/2015 5:38 PM]
Yes, but you must also take the responsibility of “working out your salvation with fear and trembling”
The work is done, but we must believe- Lord help our unbelief!

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:40 PM]
Charles Page that’s not biblical.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:37-38 KJV
http://bible.com/1/act.2.37-38.KJV

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:42 PM]
Repentance comes before baptism. For no one can say that Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost ( corinthians 12:3) and we must first repent in order to receive the Holy Ghost

Charles Page [08/20/2015 5:46 PM]
do you receive the Holy Ghost because you repent? Don’t you receive the Holy Ghost after you are born again. you are sanctified when you repent and then you receive the Holy Ghost.

Doesn’t pricked in our hearts lead us to the work of sanctification.

Marc Alfano [08/20/2015 5:46 PM]
We are justified in Christ-
And sanctified by the Holy Spirit-
So try not to quench or grieve the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. 🙂
We should do the things that “please the Lord”
Living in repentance pleases the Lord: “be merciful to me, the sinner!” 🙂

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:47 PM]
Yes Charles Page but that doesn’t change the fact that repentance comes first

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:48 PM]
I don’t believe God gives the Holy Ghost to anyone who doesn’t want to repent of their sins.

Charles Page [08/20/2015 5:48 PM]
yes but not before regeneration. Sactification follows the new birth!

Charles Page [08/20/2015 5:51 PM]
David, don’t you subscribe to the truth that the unregenerate live in a state of original sin and are dead until a quickening takes place Eph 2:1

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:56 PM]
When the word is preached those who have ears to hear will hear and repentance for sin takes place. Then after that they receive the Holy Ghost, even Jesus said this.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Luke 24:45-49 KJV
http://bible.com/1/luk.24.45-49.KJV

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 5:57 PM]
Charles Page I may be not understanding you correctly, are you saying that you don’t need to repent before receiving the Holy Ghost ?

Charles Page [08/20/2015 6:04 PM]
you don’t ever stop repenting – every day- forgive me my sins

David John Maxfield [08/20/2015 6:10 PM]
Yes that’s correct, amen, and because of that God has given you the Holy Ghost, but he does not give it to those who choose not to repent of their sins and turn from them, otherwise his name is blasphemed

cindy fox [08/28/2015 9:19 PM]
MR. Page..initial salvation comes AFTER true repentence. With our mouth we confess that JESUS is Lord and are only means of salvation and with the heart we believe this unto salvation. How do we know we need a Saviour?? We are convicted of our sinfulness and want to turn from our wicked sin nature(repentence) by the drawing of the Holy Spirit, We ,believe, repent, trust in the blood of JESUS to take away our sin and then we are born again by the power of GOD (The Holy Spirit).

if God dont know about them did Jesus die for all future sins too? Ricky Grimsley

Ricky Grimsley [02/17/2016 4:17 PM]
If you believe that God paid for a specific amount of sins that he foreknows……(which I dont). The atonement covers every sin but isnt activated until the new birth and confession. Thats why if any sins we have an advocate with the father. Its an ongoing process.

Here you go: Justification of the future!

Nelson Banuchi [02/17/2016 11:02 PM]
Heb 10:10 does not refer to any future sins. It simple reads that Christ offered his body only at one time for all men as sinners in order that those forgiven (“we”; faith and repentance assumed) would be set apart, to serve God cp. 9:24-28).

v.14: Again, future sins are not being forgiven; there is nothing in the text re: future sins. It reads, emphasizing the one offering, men are made *perfect* (“a one-time event with a continuing result”), that is, complete fit for God’s purposes, as they are being continually sanctified (or, purified), progressing in further holiness.

v.18: All that is stated here is simply that no further sacrifice is necessary for sins already forgiven. However, the reference gives no indication that future sins are being contemplated.

From a logical standpoint, let me just say:

(a) For sins to be forgiven they must be committed in order to incur guilt. Since future sins are not committed, no guilt is incurred by them.

(b) Christ died for actual sins committed, not potential sins. That one may possibly commit sins in the future only allows for the possibility of those sins being forgiven.

(c) Which brings us further to the point that only sins repented of are forgiven. Since future sins are not only not committed and incur no guilt, repentance is unnecessary.

ARE ALL FUTURE SINS FORGIVEN? | Pentecostal Theology [02/18/2016 7:57 PM]

308 thoughts on “ARE FUTURE SINS FORGIVEN?

    1. There’s no where enough scripture for you to prove that. Even if that was so your basing doctrine of a time of transition from old to new. That’s not a really good explanation of your point.

  1. If ALL sin is not forgiven ALL creation cannot be restored. For all sin to be forgiven ALL sin must be foreseen and foreknown. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ must be full and complete for the whole creation. The Creator is not going to be surprised by someone’s unforeseen sin within this creation

  2. Colossians 2:13-14 reads as follows, When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

The Greek word translated all in this passage is pas. It means each, every, any, all, the whole, all things, everything. This would seem to support the claim that all sins past present and future were forgiven at the cross.

  3. Jon Ray
But the forgiveness is not applied until we ask for it.

(And if your interpretation is correct) then explain the sin of blasphemy of The Holy Ghost..

Was it forgiven at the cross?
According to Jesus, was it forgiven?

  4. Take your eyes off the sin and put your eyes on Jesus Christ. He is still our Advocate. He will keep you and help you if you draw near to HIM. Here is a different kind of question, what does it mean to be strong in grace???

    1. Is this the fault line between Theology and practice? If you get the victory over sin today or tonight then tomorrow can only be better and stronger and sweeter and more loving. Is temperance still in the Bible or “the glorious liberty of the sons of God”

  5. Troy Day, you are right on this subject. The teaching that all of our sins are forgiven, past, present and future is pure Calvinism. 1 John 1:9 lets us know that future forgiveness is based on future confession of sin. We must continue to “walk in the light as He is in the light” if we want the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse us from our sins.

    1. Dr. Harter will there be a sanctification #3? I tried to understand what you were teaching. I may have jumped ship on you. Sorry. But please anything you can add to this important subject I would appreciate it very much. this is bro joe

  6. Melvin Harter Seems the discussion was not if one is for ever forgiven, but if all future sins that humanity will ever do were forgiven on the cross by Christ. This discussion spurred up from the ones with Ricky Grimsley about Jesus being the Eternal Son of God and the Biblical doctrine of God’s eternal ever and all knowingness

  7. hey now there is a BITE Neil Steven Lawrence Philip Williams what say ye? Bring Franc A. in here for more serious theological talk or what? RichardAnna Boyce what does you free grace say? ALL forgiven no repentance needed Calvin is great and eternal security ?

    1. Troy Day The grace of God is offered freely but it is not cheap. Certain theological persuasions make it cheap. It cost God’s blood and man’s free choice in surrender to except it. Jesus said “unless you give up everything for my sake you cannot be my disciple.“ This involves free will!

    2. Troy Day Free Grace teaches: Rejoice that positional forgiveness is total. God’s positional forgiveness covers all sins, past, present, and future. In the positional sense there is nothing a believer can ever do to lose God’s forgiveness. Once forgiven always forgiven. Jesus has once and for all paid the penalty for ALL sin. JUSTIFICATION.
Remember that fellowship forgiveness needs constant renewing. While all believers start the Christian life with fellowship forgiveness, they require it anew every time they are aware of new sin in their lives. Confession results in ongoing fellowship forgiveness. SANCTIFICATION.
Let your gratitude for God’s forgiveness motivate you to forgive others. It is hypocritical to receive enormous forgiveness from God and then refuse to extend forgiveness to others over comparatively minor matters. Grateful Christians should be forgiving people. It is noteworthy that many passages dealing with God’s forgiveness enjoin us to forgive others. And remember that at the Judgment Seat of Christ those who have been merciful to others will receive special mercy (Jas 2:13).

  8. It’s not possible to not sin, only Jesus did and could do that. So the question are future sins forgiven seems to imply that if you sin after salvation you can lose salvation. You will sin after, but should so with decreasingly frequency and increasing guilt, but be assured salvation is assured, assuming you have it. Also assume as you continue to sin, if it isn’t in decreasingly frequency and increasing guilt, you likely are deceived about your having salvation so dont.

23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them,
24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
    26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’;
27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.’ (Luke 13:23, NASB)

    1. Troy Day My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:1-2) Our future sins are atoned for because Jesus is eternal in existence and is eternally mediating and interceding for us on our behalf to the Father.

    2. Chad Bruce SO now then we can go and sin more and dont worry about no hell following? Philip Williams

    3. “Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just!”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭

    4. Troy Day You obviously didn’t read the Scripture. John tells us not to sin, but if we do, we have an Advocate. Paul specifically rebukes that mentality (Rom 6:1-2). Stop twisting things and ad hoc arguments

    5. Chad Bruce I am sorry, son, was I talking to you? I find it very diabolic that you attack me as a person personally while accusing me of ad hoc arguments IF you even know what this means It will be like if I tell you you are full of the devil for living in future sins like he is – Did they NOT teach you better @ Baylor? Pls read your BIBLE and what it says about future sins before you address me again Thank you !

    6. Troy Day Lol you’re funny. I proved you wrong, then you delete your post addressed to me, then you scramble for an pieced together defense. Now you attack my intelligence (ad hominem). You’re on a roll! Haha?

    7. Chad Bruce IF you have ANY arguments left bring them on Otherwise you are just a kid disrespecting your elders What intelligence is there to attack 🙂 I got 2 earned phds on top of you

    8. Troy Day Haha. I have already proven my point. Go back and read the Scriptures posted and stop puffing yourself up.

Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. (Prov 16:5)

  9. in the adamic nature, Irrespective of the good thing you do you are still a sinner in the eyes of God. in the nature of Christ (“Born again experience,”) irrespective of the evil you do, you are still righteous in the eyes of God. it’s more of a nature than an act. Note: committing an act of evil or good does not necessarily make one good or evil. God is much interested in our “nature of being” than our “act of being.” On this note our future sins will be forgiven. See Romans 5:12-18.

  10. No but they have been paid for by Jesus Christ upon the cross. And by confession of then that atonement can be applied to them. Think about it Jesus died 2000 years ago for sins not just the sins people committed before his death. All of our sins were future sins, sins that we commuted after his death. If Jesus didn’t die for future sins then non of us can be forgiven.

    1. Jesus has paid the debt owed to the law of sin and death for sin, so Jesus is the one who paid the price for sin on the cross. Although Jesus paid the price for all sin forgiveness for is sin is only applied to us when we admit we are sinners and in need of a saviour and we then accept Jesus as our saviour. If we reject Jesus we also reject what he did for us we reject the payment he made for sin. There is only one sin that was paid for at the cross and that sin is the rejection of the cross for what you are saying is I dont need a saviour I dont need my sins forgiven or you are saying I have no sin and by doing that you are making God out to be a liar when its you who are lying to yourself and God.

    1. Troy Day if you’re truly saved. Not because you said a little prayer where you’ve repeated the pastor. The question is “ Do you desire Him?” Jesus said if anyone calls out to me I will in No way cast out. So yes if you confess your sin He is faithful and just to forgive us…

  11. It is wrong to say that Jesus forgave your sins up to the time you got saved, but after that it is up to you to have them atoned for. That would be saying that you were forgiven by grace for all the dastardly horrible things you did–you were forgiven in an instant because of your faith in the finished work of Christ. But now that you love God and serve God, you better tow the line and do it well or God is going to hold your sins against you and you will suffer for it.

  12. Have you sined in the future? If this question does not make sense, then the same goes to your question. All sins are forgiven when repented and asked for forgiveness.

    1. Your position of going to heaven does not change when you sin.

But getting saved changed us from going to Hell to Heaven.

God is just and has to punish sin of everyone.

Saved sinners and sinners both are punished for sinning.

Not confessing our sins hurts our relationship with God.

There is a false doctrine that says you don’t have to confess your sins to Jesus because its all under the blood.
Therefore that false doctrine says you don’t have to confess sin.

If that was true than confession of sins as a saved person would never have been mentioned.

  13. Hevrews 1:3
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

    1. Troy Day he had by himself purged our sins (present and future sins) not sinned past tense.

He sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Only time Jesus stood up in heaven was for the stoning of Stephen.
He does not need to come back for future sins.
      Sin will remain rampant .
Its up to you to repent.
The blood went back to Adam Genesis 3:21

    1. and YET we have many folks who will sin in the future – are their sins already forgotten by the Forgiving GOD ?

  14. I think the biggest issue is that all of you think that sin is an act and not a condition.
Sin is the CAUSE of the act not the act itself.
So if sin is forgiven or forgotten, the act no longer defines you as a sinner.
It defines you as forgiven and saved.
This, like Paul said is not an excuse to sin.
But the bottom line is Jesus took away your conditions, he didn’t take away the acts.

    1. how can sin as condition be forgotten in the future if it has not occurred in the past yet? Philip Williams Charles Page

    2. Sin of a constant. Let’s say you have a defective gene in your family.
Everyone down the line is born with it.
What would be the only way to get rid of that defective gene?
To be born again as Christ stated.
To remove the condition of sin.

    3. Philip Williams
That was not meant in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense of salvation.
And never again call anything I say damnable.
That is the very thing the scripture judge not lest the be judged warns against.
I nor you have the authority to declare anything damned or saved.

    4. Michael B Reimann I call these damnable teachings damnable whether *you* think so or not. We certainly are to judge prophecies and teachings. Are you also condemning the inspired Scriptures?

    1. Troy Day I am a member of many religious debate groups and I’ve seen a trend of Christians worried about many aspects of sin such as: Have I committed the unpardonable sin? Is it a sin to do this or that? Is it a sin to eat this or that? Is it a sin not to worship on Sunday? And others too many to mention. And then there is yours – Are my future sins forgiven?

There seems to be an ill at ease focus about sin and sinning among Christians.

  15. This is why we must confess our sins, continue to try to obey Christ, repent when shown what’s wrong – Regeneration starts the relationship as a child of God, but we have responsibilities to fulfill – only God knows if we will make it. We die, we’re judged (final), and we are released into eternal life or death.

  16. If we are not under the Law no record of sins is being recorded. Even so, in light of this we ought to stop sinning and pursue righteousness. We spent enough time in darkness and disobedience. How can we live in it any longer? We put on Christ and learn to walk in a way worthy of our calling. We do not do away with the law though we are not under it… rather we seek to establish it as the schoolmaster that leads men to Christ. The Gospel makes the most sense in light of the Law. Without the law what is grace? Want lawlessness to break out? Do away with the law and turn grace into justification for remaining in the flesh.

  17. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

    1. … Philip … Matt, 6:15 was BEFORE the Cross of Christ and before God’s Grace was poured out upon the whole world.

BTW. The Book of Matthew has NOTHING to do with the Body of Christ. It was written to Israel concerning the 1,000 year EARTHLY Kingdom of Heaven that was promised to them.

  18. Are some here claiming that all sins are already forgiven?

“And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” Matthew‬ ‭12:31-32‬

    1. … Phillip … No. I am “Rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim. 2:15) by dividing Grace from Law.

You mix the two (2) together which is the Luke Warm Gospel that only cause CONFUSING.

    2. Philip Williams … OK. If I’m wrong then show me in the Book of Matthew the Gospel of God’s Grace APART from Law as taught by Paul.

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith WITHOUT the deeds of the law.” Rom. 3:28

“For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:] Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Eph. 2:8-9

Is that the flashiest and biggest meme you have? Do you think that the size and color of a meme means anything but your inability to articulate an appropriate response?

I am referring not to your nonsense but to what Paul was teaching in Romans.

    4. Philip Williams .. The New Covenant is for Israel ONLY not the Body of Christ.

      “The New Covenant

To properly consider the new covenant, we should begin by looking at the promise of it in ages past. In history, God intervened with man and promised the new covenant to the nation of Israel. We will see a glimpse of this in Jeremiah 31. As we look at these verses, we shall see three aspects of the new covenant that we will be able draw upon later.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” says the LORD.

“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says the LORD: “I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” says the LORD. “For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” (Jeremiah 31:31-34)

SOME DAY ISRAEL, AS A NATION, WILL COME INTO THIS NEW COVENANT.
Now, they are living under the burden of having rejected the Messiah who brought in the covenant. Of course, many Jews, one by one, for the last two thousand years, have been coming to the Messiah to live under this new covenant, but they have yet to come en masse. Perhaps you, by natural human bloodline, were Jewish in origin and you have come to believe on Christ as the Messiah. This is your covenant. And someday the nation will come. Particularly, it will happen as the end of Romans 11 describes it, it says, “Thus all Israel shall be saved.” That is what eventually awaits Israel.

      THREE TERMS TO THIS COVENANT
There are three terms to this covenant, which are laid out gloriously in this passage. The first of these is the forgiveness of sins, found at the end of Jeremiah 31:34. “For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more.” Forgiveness of sins is part of the new covenant. For many believers, the forgiveness of sins is really all they know of when they hear of the new covenant. These recall easily that “this cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you,” and yet forgiveness is only one part of the covenant.

Not only do we see forgiveness of sins in this new covenant, but we must note the second term of the agreement: a personal relationship with God. “No more shall every man teach his neighbor and every man his brother saying, know the Lord, for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them” (verse 34). The door for the intimate opportunity to get acquainted with God is opened under the provisions of the new covenant.

Take special note of this third provision of the new covenant: the internal working of God, enabling His people for Godly living from the inside out. “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts” (verse 33).

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COVENANTS IS STRIKING.
In the old covenant of the law, the message was inanimate. There was no life in it. It was a message of words carved in stone, external to man; it was an outside, inanimate message. The old covenant describes what life should look like, but it neither provides nor can it provide life to those who are under its terms. God intends for life to be godly, to be holy, to be righteous. And the law demands it, describing life as it should be. But it never offers life.

    5. Philip Williams … Still didn’t answer my question

      I’ll wait for your answer.

  19. There is only one sin that can never be forgiven and that is the Unpardonable sin.
Which we can never commit. When Jesus talked about it He referred to the Pharisees.

    1. Peggy Kalivoda that is nonsense. If the Holy Ghost is present today, we can blaspheme the Holy Ghost. If we blaspheme the spirit of Jesus whether in the Bible or today, we blaspheme the Holy Ghost.

    2. Their hearts were so hardened that they knew Christ was the Messiah, they saw the miracles for themselves and would rather kill Him than forfeit their status. They credited to satan the work of God. Nowadays people credit to God the work of satan( name it and claim billionaire clubs of false prophets)

    3. Peggy Kalivoda

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭

  20. I am sitting here laughing Philip Williams Chris Westerman HOW did I start this discussion 20 000 members away and still ended up with you 2 arguing on the same thing 🙂 Now I need Charles Page and RichardAnna Boyce to pitch in on the Biblical need of #REPENTANCE and we will get the full picture with Neil Steven Lawrence and Larry Dale Steele

  21. So. John said of Jesus behold, the lamb who takes away the sin of the world.

When Jesus died on the cross he paid the penalty for our sins. For EVERYONES sins.

The thing is, in order to benefit from that, we have to believe in Him. If we do not, then we will die in our sins. So the sin nature is still there.

Because the nature is still there and future people will be born with sin nature, the answer is yes, they are forgiven also.
But only if they choose to be.

To die in sin is self condemnation. It means you did not believe that your sins were forgiven so God let you keep them.

  22. “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him. 12As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.…” Psalm 103:11-13 (NASB)

    1. Philip Williams No, Hebrews does not suggest anything about a Spirit-filled believer “falling away” but discusses, at length, those who hear the Word and know the Truth and have tasted of the goodness of the Spirit but never internalize same by faith in Jesus as Lord.

God makes the affirmative choice to remember our sins no more, past-present-future, when we trust in Messiah as Lord because Messiah became sin for us so that we could receive His perfection, righteousness, imputed over our lives forever. When we trust in Messiah as Lord, we are declared “not guilty.”

    2. Rick Holtsclaw what complete inversion of the letter to the Hebrews!
“You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.” But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:18-24‬

    3. Philip Williams Yet my God leads by the Cloud…

“The LORD descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the LORD.” Exodus 34:5 (NASB)

    1. Wynni Wagner

“Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.” Colossians‬ ‭1:24‬ ‭

“Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:23‬

    2. Philip Williams once the Holy Spirit moves in, all you want to do is advance the kingdom! Its still Him working in us and through us, its all Him! Hallelujah!

    1. Philip Williams Id agree that Jesus died for all Most calvinators will tell you Jesus died only for the saved

    2. Troy Day no. He died for the whole world. He gave the world a gift but if you do not accept it and uterlize it you are already condemned! If someone gave you a gift and you never care to look at it or even open it you will never know what it is much more use it!

    1. Tom Salamone well then you are in pickle with you theology cause you just cant have it both ways

    2. Troy Day no not all all. Explain that to me. How am I in a pickle? Christ died once for sins for all time. Future sins do not exist. What is the problem?

  23. Free Grace teaches: Rejoice that positional forgiveness is total.

    1. Ryan Scott Howell i used to think the same, but what good is a savior if I ask forgiveness for the sins I do, commit one more sin, and then die before I can ask forgiveness for that last sin? I go to hell because of that last sin. So that means it is the act of me asking for forgiveness which saves me, not Christ dying on the cross. Does that make sense?

    2. Ron Sell I totally get that. And we are only saved through Jesus Christ. My understanding and belief on the doctrine of repentance is the changing of ones desires and heart, the Greek or Hebrew translations better convey that. The asking of repentance is only important as it helps us recognize our misdeeds and make a more conscious effort to make that change.

The important thing in that moment would be if you had been turning closer and closer to God and you had a sincere change of heart.

  24. Future sins are not(!) already forgiven.

“But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew‬ ‭6:15‬ ‭

  25. When Jesus died on the cross 2000 years ago, were your sins forgiven? At the time, All of your sins were, future sins. Once you except that Jesus is God, that he died for your sins, that you are a sinner and can’t attain heaven on your own, you receive His grace, right?

    1. You receive His grace when you confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead. That’s it. You dont have to accept Jesus as God or accept that you are a sinner.

      Romans 10:9,10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

  26. The verse DOESN’T EXIST. It’s an abominable idea that one can willingly sin after they are saved.

Read 1 John 5; it says what to do if we slip up. Note that some sins can be “deadly”.

    1. Wynni Wagner No, if you are a true believer of His, you will FOLLOW Him. That’s what HE said.

I never said that you will be sinless. But the BIBLE warns against apostasy by falling into serious sin.

    2. Wynni Wagner This is not a church, it’s a facebook group. And, that’s okay, because people need a place to exchange ideas.

Unfortunately, Jesus lived and preached 2000 years ago. I would argue that He gave this body of teaching to an authoritative, apostolic Church. Fine – except that since the protestant rebellion, we now have every sort of so-called christianity. We don’t know what the ‘good news’ is.

Eternal Security (once-saved-always-saved) is a particularly dangerous idea, flatly contradicted in many passages in Scripture.

  27. ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE, THE POWER OF SIN CANNOT ABOLISH GOD’S PROMISE OF SALVATION TO THE BORN AGAIN. 1 Cor. 15:56, Gal. 3:17 The strength of sin is the law. And the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.”

  28. NOT A SINGLE SOLITARY SIN CAN BE CHARGED AGAINST THE BORN AGAIN! Rom. 5:13, 4:15, 6:14 Sin is the transgression of the law, and ye are not under law, but under grace. Where there is no law there is no transgression. For sin is not imputed (charged against you) when there is no law.

  29. THE LARGEST CULT MASQUERADING AS CHRISTIANITY PREACHES THAT SALVATION IS BASED ON THE LIFE YOU LIVE, AND NOT SOLELY ON FAITH IN CHRIST. ONLY THE BORN AGAIN HAVE ESCAPED THIS “DOCTRINE OF DEVILS” PREACHED BY MINISTERS OF SATAN. 2 Cor. 11:14-15, Matt. 7:22-24, Gal. 5:4 “Do not marvel: for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as ministers of r1ighteousness; whose end shall be according TO THEIR WORKS. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful WORKS? And I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that WORK iniquity. For Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you who are justified by (works of) the law ye have fallen from grace.” When legalists hear you quote the passage in Colossians 2:14 that Christ has taken the law out of our way, they don’t understand what would make people live godly lives if the law did not threaten to withhold their eternal salvation. Interestingly, the hardest thing for legalists to accept is that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone, apart from human effort. This is not good news (the gospel) to a legalist. Legalists do not believe that faith alone is good enough.

  30. When legalists accuse you of believing in that “once saved always saved stuff,” remind them it is either once saved always saved or it is once saved always unsure, and the latter is “not of faith.” (Gal. 3:12, Rom. 14:23) Their statement “You think you can live like the devil and still be saved” is very telling, because it reveals what they are trusting in to get them into heaven. It shows that they are trusting in the lives they live “for” Jesus to get them through His pearly gates. That’s works, ladies and gentlemen; pure, unadulterated, and unmitigated works! Jesus described the end of these “Christian ministers” who subscribe to that doctrine of salvation, stating: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wondrous works? And I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matt. 7:22-23) Did you notice these are “Christian” ministers who preached and acted in the name of Jesus? No doubt these ministers will be totally shocked to hear Jesus say He never knew them and will not admit them in His kingdom. But notice the first thing out of their mouths is the doctrine they preached, believed, and based their salvation on. Works! Works! Works! “Lord, Lord, haven’t I…, and haven’t I …., and haven’t I ….?” These are “Christian ministers” who are pleading with Christ for entrance into His kingdom based on their works. (Tit. 3:5, Matt. 7:22-23) Notice that their wonderful “works” are their first line of defense against the fires of hell! All their objections as to why Christ should allow them into His kingdom revolve around their “wondrous works.” Where did these Christian ministers get this works doctrine? Marvel not for: Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light; Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as ministers of righteousness whose end shall be according to their works [of the law]. For by the works of the law shall no flesh living be justified. (2 Cor. 11:14, Gal. 2:16)

    1. OSAS is eternal insecurity – never able to tell which sin or how many indicates someone was “never really saved.”

1 Cor. 15.1 I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

1 Cor. 9. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

John 15. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

John 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Heb. 3. 12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, … 17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. 4. 1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. … Heb. 4. 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Ezek. 33. 12 ‘The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; nor shall the righteous be able to [he shall not] live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.’

Rom. 11. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

Matthew 18. 34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Luke 8. 13 [parable of sower] Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

Heb. 2 . 1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?

Heb. 6. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12 We do not want you to become sluggish, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. [if fall away – impossible to renew (6.6) The hope is entering His presence (6.19)]

Hebrews 10. 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10. 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” [v.39 – “draws back to perdition” (utter destruction)]

1 Tim. 3. 6 [A bishop] must not be a novice (recent convert), lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

      2 Tim. 2. 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;

2 Peter 1. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

2 Peter 2:20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

2 Peter 3. 17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.

James 5.19-20 19My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

1 John 2. 24See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. … just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Revelation 16.15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

Rev. 22.19 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    2. Josie Tiscareno You’re confused, obedience doesn’t merit anything (just like faith); obedience is simply the necessary condition (just like faith). You don’t pretend you earned something everytime you stop at a stop sign or obey any other law, do you?? That’s just the minimum requirement of the law for safety.

Lk 17. 10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’ ”

  31. If future sins are forgiven, then you’d be forgiven of the sin of unbelief before you ever had faith. Universalism would be true; salvation would not be through faith.

Rom. 3. 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were PREVIOUSLY committed

    1. Josie Tiscareno So you’re telling me to stop sinning while claiming we can’t stop sinning??? Please tell which sin and how many indicates someone was “never really saved”.

  32. The sins of the saints committed after regeneration are paid sins. That is a fact regardless of however and whatever people wanna label it. The Atonement was done once and for all time for all of the elect and the eternal status of them all are preserved forever.
From God’s eternal vantage point, we who are In Christ, are forever perfect, sinless and cannot be otherwise, even if our sins remained unconfessed.

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior!

    1. William Clark
If you’re asking for a debate, I’m not into it now. Sorry.
But if you’re asking for proof because you wish to learn truth, maybe I’ll give you a verse.

    2. So big of you in telling me what you’re willing to take time for based on whether you think I’m being sincere. I’ll give you a verse 16……uh, 54, uh 23….oh, without the book and chapter it’s pretty useless. Responses like yours above “If you’re asking for a debate, I’m not into it now. Sorry.
But if you’re asking for proof because you wish to learn truth, maybe I’ll give you a verse.” are a big part of what’s wrong with the believing community. You could be the top ranked apologist in the world and I’m no longer interested.

  33. Philip Williams where was THAT verse where Jesus said sin more and you shall be forgiven

GUESS RichardAnna Boyce is not realizing his theology supports TRUMP whos got nothing to repent for 🙂

    1. Troy Day his brother said this, which is what we are seeing today:

“For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.”
      ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭

    2. Philip Williams yeah I heard this one NOW Jude not very often used by apologetics for SOME reason 🙂

    3. “Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just!”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭

    4. If Trump refuses to repent/ change his mind and agree with God about his unbelief, then Trump will be punished proportionately in hell. He goes to heaven or hell based on his believing/ unbelieving faith only.

    1. so you are saying go sin anyway cause all your since are pre-payed for and dont even repent Philip Williams

    2. Ernie Cantu WHY are you saying that? Cause it sure read like you were saying it just not too clear as of WHY

    3. Ernie Cantu so you are talking to yourself now? Can you start your own thread for that pls Here pls just answer OP

    4. Philip Williams SAME in MT many who told me Lord Lord will have to go away in the lake of fire

    1. Philip Williams The propituation for sins for those who would confess, repent & believe was for all people who had lived, were living when Jesus died, and for all future people. Have I made it more clear?

    2. Philip Williams I’m not a Calvinist because many Scriptures, including 2 Peter 3:9 says the Lird is not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL should come to repentance. Jesus’ substitutionary death made it possible for all who would confess, repent & believe could be saved. He won’t make anybody be saved and He won’t keep anybody from being saved. It ‘s our choice. Being omnicient He knows who will & who won’t accept this good news.

    3. Linda Ann Wolfenbarger

Good that you aren’t a Calvinist because atonement was offered to all who willing repent and believe, not to those who won’t and don’t.

  34. Yes, all sins, past, present, and future are forgiven when by faith claimed God’s sacrifice of His Son and forgiveness as yours. His righteousness is imputed on you which made you righteous before the eyes of God (2 Cor 5:21). As far as the East is from the West, so far has He forgiven your sins. (Ps. 103)

  35. Yeah, the Bible never says God has forgiven future sins. Future sins don’t even exist yet. And the Lord Jesus teaches men to pray for forgiveness of sins daily: “forgive us for our sins, as we have also forgiven those who have sinned against us”.

  36. Hebrews 10:14-17
[14]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
[15]Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
    [16]This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
[17]And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

  37. I find it funny here Philip Williams lots of church folk JUST wanna drink for Jesus on a early Sunday morning

    1. Troy Day I can’t get over how misinformed you are. 1) I’m not Calvinist. 2) I don’t misrepresent Calvinism like you do. 3) the Bible clearly says not to abuse Grace and to not sin (Rom 6:1-2, 1 Cor 5). 4) if we do sin, we have an Advocate that mediates and intercedes on our behalf (1 John 2:1-2, 1 Tim 2:5, Heb 7:25). Can’t be any clearer.

    2. Chad Bruce Figures you got no arguments left either way You are STILL not even aware of my position on the question asked by still arguing in typical ad hominem Is Dr. Mynatt still teaching @ Baylor Tell him I said Hi will ya

    3. Troy Day if you’re misrepresenting, then you’re misrepresenting. It’s not ad hominem. I just told you the argument and all you can say is, “Figures you got no arguments left…” Your position is irrelevant if it contradicts Scripture. You’re not the authority no matter how many PhDs you may have

  38. If we haven’t sinned, we have no need for Christ’s atonement. At some point, everyone does sin which leads to death. If we turn (repent) to Christ and believe in him, he will forgive us. He then becomes an advocate for us with the Father.

We must forgive all who have wronged us, or we will not be forgiven.

  39. One cannot overstate how entirely our imaginations are captive to individualism. It powerfully shapes how biblical scholars read texts.

Reading through several of the best exegetical commentaries on Romans, one routinely finds interpreters envisioning Paul applying this or that truth “to the believer,” “the work of the Spirit in the life of the believer,” “the importance of justification for the Christian.”

Romans is a text dominated by plural pronouns—“we,” “our,” “you all,” etc. Phoebe read it aloud to gathered groups of listeners. Its author sought to reconcile factions in the network of house churches so that Roman Christians would be unified. All its rebukes involve corrupt relational behaviors. All its exhortations involve renewed community dynamics.

It is about community from beginning to end. And we read it and talk about the individual.

    Our imaginations desperately need liberation.

  40. when Jesus died, when Paul and the others wrote the New Testament all our sins were future. The author of Hebrews says it was for all sin He paid the penalty

  41. But when Christ had offered FOR ALL TIME a “single” sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a “single” offering he has PERFECTED FOR ALL TIME those who are being sanctified.
    Hebrews 10:12-14

If Jesus blood does not atone for future sins, then his blood isn’t sufficient to cover all sins, and another sacrifice would be required. But this text clearly states that Jesus offered himself, ONE sacrifice, that is suffucient for all sin, for all time. Now does all time mean past, present and future? Well, all time means ALL time, so I think it’s safe to include the past, the present, and the future.

    1. Of course there is only “one sacrifice” for sin. But nowhere does the Bible say that one has a License to Sin, Kyle Baraniuk. Practically every book in the New Testament has a warning – to the BELIEVER – to avoid sin, lest they be CUT OFF from Christ.

Try Hebrews 10:27, John 15, Romans 10-11 for starters.

Once-Saved-Always-Saved (Eternal Security) is a false doctrine. I’d be happy to discuss this with you.

  42. 4 Bible passages used as threats of conditional salvation:-
Rom 11:22 ‘Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.’
In context Paul has been focusing in Chapters 9 and 10 on the kingdom temporarily being taken from Israel; but will one day experience salvation (Rom 11:11-26).
As a result Gentiles experience God’s richness, while Israel temporarily loses it.
Paul rebukes Gentiles for presumptious boasting, and today Gentile Christians are falling away from Paul’s teachings. One day God will restore Israel as His channel of blessing starting with 144,000 believing Jewish evangelists. One day Gentiles will be ‘cut off’ from being in the centre of God’s plans on earth.
The olive tree does not mean ‘being saved’ but ‘being a channel of blessing’ to the world.
This can also apply to individual as well (John 15:6), losing the blessing of future rewards.
Heb 3:14 also teaches this, and it has nothing to do with losing or gaining eternal heaven.

  43. 1 Corinthians 3:15-17 “If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.’
The sin in question is the destruction of God’s temple, the local assembly of believers, not the individual Christian. 1 Cor 3:5-8 Paul, Apollos and Peter had been building up local assemblies, but divisions were affecting the building up of local assemblies.
1 Cor 3:9-10 Fights and lawsuits among Christians were disrupting the unity of believers and threatening the destruction of the body of local believers (the temple). The temple in 3:16 in context is the body of believers, whereas later in 6:19 the temple is individual believers.
1 Cor 3:17 refers back to verse 15 where the works of the believer will be ‘burned up’ and he will ‘suffer loss’ of reward as in 2 John 8.
The believer himself will still be saved (1 Cor 3:15).

  44. Gal 5:4 ‘You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.’
Many people fear they have lost salvation, but the context is false teachers saying we have salvation by grace plus law works, and
Paul warns them about falling from a grace way of life and returning to law as a way of life.
Grace (gr charis) is not used in the NT for the ‘state of salvation’, but for the method of obtaining salvation. To fall from grace is to fall into law, not into damnation.

  45. 2 Tim 2:10-13 ‘Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
V10 Paul endures for the elect already saved and justified, so they can obtain salvation and eternal honour and rewards co-reigning with Christ in the final destiny of man in heaven.
V12 To ‘deny’ Jesus is the opposite of ‘enduring’ and failing to persevere in faith to the end. As a result Jesus will deny us rewards in heaven, not deny believers there place in heaven. Nothing in the context or elsewhere in NT does ‘deny’ mean a son’s place in heaven.
‘We’ and ‘us’ in V12 refer to regenerate believers who may and can deny Christ, similar to the warning in Matt 10:33 where the context refers to regenerate believers too.
If the opposite of enduring is to deny Jesus, then the opposite of reigning with Jesus is that He will deny us the rewards and privilege of reigning with Him as co-heirs in millennium.
V13 ‘If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.’
Christ will deny rewards to the unfaithful who have lost their faith, but not deny salvation.
It is impossible for God to deny Himself that He made a Promise Covenant with Himself, not Abraham who was asleep, for our faith; and also with Christ as we are in Christ, Christ in us.
