#Fed Predicts ‘Mild’ #Recession, #Abortion Drug Ruling, and Second TN Lawmaker #Reinstated #shorts
A federal appeals court ruled late Wednesday that women can still access the abortion drug mifepristone, but with tighter restrictions on the length of time it can be dispensed, and not by mail. The ruling narrows a district court judge’s decision to entirely ban access to the drug.
The nation’s inflation rate slowed in March, but it is still high. The Federal Reserve predicts a “mild” recession this year in the wake of economic turmoil.
The second expelled lawmaker from the Tennessee state legislature, Rep. Justin Pearson, has been reinstated. Pearson and colleague Justin Jones, who was reinstated Monday, were expelled by the Tennessee House for taking part in an anti-gun violence demonstration inside the capitol.
