Zelensky Denies Russian Claim, Debt Limit Talks Continue, and Tim Scott’s 2024 Announcement #shorts
President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy will meet again today to try to find an agreement on raising the nation’s debt limit. The GOP insists on spending cuts, while the White House says Republicans needs to modify its “extreme” positions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected Russia’s claims that it has won the fierce battle for the city of Bakhmut. Zelensky claims Ukrainian troops are still in control of some areas of the city but did acknowledge that the situation was “critical.”
And South Carolina Senator Tim Scott will announce his candidacy for President today in his hometown of North Charleston, SC. He joins a GOP primary battle dominated by former President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is expected to announce his candidacy this week.
