Tim Scott’s 2024 Bid, Biden and McCarthy Debt Talks, and Christian Persecution in India #shorts
President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy failed in their meeting Monday to break the impasse over raising the nation’s debt limit. Still, both sides said the talks were productive, as the Treasury Department’s June 1 deadline for possible default looms larger.
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott became the latest Republican to throw his hat into the presidential ring for 2024. Scott, the only African-American GOP senator, made the announcement at Charleston Southern University and promised to defend conservative values.
And more than 60 Christians are dead and 400 churches have been destroyed in northeast India’s Manipur province, as Christians are reported to be “literally on the run” from the violence.
