Florida Governor Ron DeSantis officially launched his run for the 2024 nomination in an audio Twitter event with owner Elon Musk that was marred by technical issues. The production had to be shut down for 20 minutes, but he raised $1 million in the hour after the launch.
A June 1st deadline to raise the debt ceiling is now just days away, and although both the White House and GOP lawmakers say they’re making progress, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy admitted the two sides are “nowhere near a deal.”
And Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing coalition passed a two-year budget Wednesday, clearing the way for the government to tackle hot-button issues such as judicial reform and military conscription. Opposition leaders sharply criticized the 64-55 vote, with one saying Netanyahu is “drunk on power.”
