Houghton Univ. President Speaks Out as Employees Claim They Were Fired for Pronouns in Signatures
Wayne Lewis, Jr., president of Houghton University in upstate New York, speaks to CBN’s Faithwire after two former employees claimed in an interview with The New York Times that they were fired from the college for using preferred pronouns in their email signatures. Lewis asserted the ex-staffers’ characterization of the situation “is untrue.”
He went on to address the larger issue of increasing cultural hostility toward biblical values on central issues, like sexuality and God’s design for males and females. Lewis also discussed his journey to faith in Christ and how he came to lead Houghton University.
