Debt Deal Agreement, Ukraine Denies Moscow Attack, and Erdogan Wins Re-election #shorts
President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy are urging lawmakers to support their deal to raise the nation’s debt limit to avoid an unprecedented default. While they appear on track to secure enough bipartisan support for the measure, they face opposition that threatens to complicate passing the bill by a June 5th deadline.
Ukraine denies Russian reports that it carried out a drone attack that hit several residential buildings in Moscow today in what would be the first such assault on Russian civilian areas. Russia has also issued an arrest warrant for Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham following comments he made about the war in Ukraine.
And Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won re-election on Sunday in a historic runoff vote that will extend his rule until 2028.
