‘This Is Huge’: Apple to Blur Sexual Content as Instagram Fights ‘Vast Pedophile Network’
Lina Nealon, vice president and director of corporate advocacy for the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE), joins CBN’s Faithwire to discuss Apple’s decision to blur sexually explicit content on devices and accounts linked to users 12 years and under. She described the decision by Apple as a “huge” victory, noting NCOSE has been working behind-the-scenes with the tech company since 2018.
Nealon further explained why — legally — 12 was the oldest age they could apply the explicit-content block as a default setting, though it is available to users of any age. She also addressed recent reporting revealing the so-called “vast pedophile network” operating “in plain sight” on Instagram and ways parents can protect their children from predators online.
