Mark 6:1-29: Jesus rejected, John the Baptist martyred
Mark 6 opens with Jesus dissed by his homeboys (in Nazareth), and soon proceeds to John’s martyrdom. In between, Jesus sends disciples on a mission that makes him better known–and brings him to the attention of the same person who ordered John’s beheading.
