Iran Behind Terror Group, Supreme Court Election Ruling, and Capitol Police Budget Increase #short
The Supreme Court ruled that state legislatures do not have broad powers to set election laws independently of state courts. Conservatives argued that the power to write the laws is largely the job of elected representatives; the high court rejected that argument with three Republican-appointed justices joining three liberals in the 6-3 opinion.
The head of Israel’s internal security agency, the Shin Bet, told a cyber conference in Tel Aviv Tuesday that Iran is behind the growing influence of the Lion’s Den terror group operating in the West Bank. He said Iran recruits young people online, sends them money and furnishes weapons to kill Israeli soldiers and civilians.
And the Capitol Police is asking for a $100 Million Budget increase to combat threats against lawmakers after seeing a 400% percent uptick in threats over the past six years.
