Supreme Court Rulings on Affirmative Action and Religious Liberty, and West Bank Terrorism #shorts
The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Thursday in favor of a Pennsylvania postal worker who sued the U.S. Postal Service for refusing to accommodate his religious belief that he shouldn’t work on the Sundays. The landmark ruling could have major implications for religious liberties in the workplace.
The high court also ruled 6-3 that race cannot be used to decide who is admitted to colleges and universities and who is denied. The decision overturned admissions programs at Harvard and the University of North Carolina, with the majority ruling that the programs violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause.
And Israeli leaders are trying to persuade the Palestinian Authority security forces to crack down on West Bank terror groups after an upsurge in violent attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians. Israel believes Iran is funding the groups and smuggling weapons to them.
