Angel Studios in Utah produces hits like ‘Sound Of Freedom’ and ‘The Chosen’, should you care if it’s owned and operated by rock-solid Mormons?

The Mormons who own and operate the highly-successful Angel Studios in Provo, Utah could not be happier with the opening run of their new hit movie ‘Sound Of Freedom’ at the box office. It took 3rd place with a $40 million opening. That’s pretty good. Their hit streaming show ‘The Chosen’ is no slouch, either. The studio is named after the angel Moroni who started Mormonism with Joseph Smith in 1830.

Aww, but who cares if Mormons are behind these things, right? We’re all Christians, right? And who cares if the Roman Catholic star of ‘The Chosen’ who plays Jesus just launched a prayer app called Hallow to let you pray the rosary with him, right? Wrong. You should care about these things, and you shouldn’t support heretical groups pretending to be Christian who preach the ‘another gospel’ warned about by the apostle Paul. That goes for the Roman Catholic Church every bit as much as it does for the Mormons.

Speaking of ‘The Chosen’, the Deseret News says “speaking at Utah State University in March, Jenkins said he has witnessed ‘The Chosen’ bring people of different faiths and religions together in remarkable ways.

“To me, one of the joys of this project is seeing the religious walls that come down when we’re focused on Jesus himself,” he said. “It’s just been so beautiful to watch.”

The show isn’t based on any religious tradition or particular faith perspective, it’s based on the stories in the gospels and history.” Translation? This is making Mormonism acceptable to Christians through the popularity of the show. Those ‘religious walls’ that Dallas Jenkins is gleefully bringing down are the fundamental pillars of the Christian faith.
