Pope Francis has been busy appointing men and women who support his vision of an affirming synodal church to positions where it matters.

How do you boil a frog? You put it in a pot of cold water and gradually increase the heat until its legs are too weak from the heat to jump out to safety. Pope Francis is busy boiling his frog right now, only his ‘frog’ is the dream of turning the 1,700 year old institution of the Roman Catholic Church into an LGBTQIA+ affirming organization. As Groucho Marx would say, ‘what’s the secret word?’ Well, Groucho, the answer is ‘synod’. Yep, that’s the winner right there.

“And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” Revelation 17:4-6 (KJB)

If you are not a Roman Catholic, chances are you are also not familiar with the words ‘synod’ and ‘synodal’ as it relates to the Roman church. The Vatican News had this to say about it:

“The synodal journey of ongoing conversion encourages us to become a Church that witnesses unambiguously to the equal dignity of each person and of all peoples, both within its internal life, and in its action in the world. Reading the signs of our times in the light of the Gospel, we see that God’s action in the world is not restricted to the Catholic Church! A more synodal Church will be open to ecumenical and interfaith wisdom. It will be open to wisdom from all branches of human knowledge, which continues to develop. It will be open to walking with all people of authenticity on a path of encounter, dialogue and accompaniment.” source

In the more ‘synodal’ church that Francis is building, you are going to see female priests, 6-color rainbow flags, and all manner of queers and transgenders fluttering about to administer the ‘holy sacraments’ to the faith Roman Catholics. All he needed was the right marketing tool to sell it with, and ‘synod’ will get the job done nicely. To push this through, Pope Francis has fingered LGBTQIA-affirming Jesuit priest James Martin. Isn’t it exciting watching the Roman Catholic Church blossoming into the Whore of Babylon? It is if you know your Bible.

Pope Francis appoints men and women to build a synodal church

FROM RELIGION NEWS: This is evident in his recent appointments to the college of cardinals, the synod, to the Roman Curia and to archdioceses. These appointments are important because, as every management consultant will tell you, “personnel is policy.” An organization can have wonderful policies, but if the people responsible for implementing them are not on board, those policies will fail.

On Sunday July 9, Francis appointed 21 new cardinals, 18 of whom are under 80 years of age and therefore able to vote for a new pope in a conclave. After these new cardinals are created at a consistory on Sept. 30, there will be 137 cardinal electors, three more than the previous high in 2001 under John Paul II. Seventy-two percent of the cardinal electors, who will elect the next pope, have been appointed by Francis, which makes it more likely that the next pope will continue the direction Francis has charted for the church.

To the Synod on Synodality, which will begin Oct. 4, Pope Francis appointed four U.S. cardinals and an archbishop who are close to him in thinking.

Among the non-episcopal delegates to the synod — priests and laymen and women — is the Jesuit priest the Rev. James Martin, editor at large for America Magazine and founder of Outreach, a ministry for LGBTQIA Catholics. Martin has been a frequent target of conservative Catholic activists but has been supported in his ministry by Francis. Martin could play a crucial role at the synod in discussions of LGBTQ Catholics. He is also very knowledgeable of Ignatian discernment, a prayerful process that will be key to the success of the synod.

The four U.S. cardinals are: Sean O’Malley, archbishop of Boston; Wilton Gregory, the archbishop of Washington, D.C.; Blase Cupich, the archbishop of Chicago; and Robert McElroy, the bishop of San Diego. The other episcopal appointment is Archbishop Paul Etienne of Seattle.

Also attending the synod is Cardinal Joseph Tobin, archbishop of Newark, who is a member of the Vatican council that has been planning the synod, and Cardinal Kevin Farrell, an American who works in the Vatican Curia. All these prelates are loyal supporters of Francis and his policies. On the other hand, the American bishops selected for the synod by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops are less enthusiastic in their support, although none publicly opposes Francis.

Not surprising was the selection of the USCCB president, Timothy Broglio, archbishop of the military services. Presidents are always elected to go to synods. Bishop Daniel Flores of Brownsville, Texas, was another obvious choice because he has been the bishops’ point man on the synod. Also chosen were the chair of the USCCB committee on doctrine, Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana, as well as media-savvy Bishop Robert Barron of Winona-Rochester, Minnesota, and conference favorite Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York.

The elections took place in secret, so we do not know who wanted to go but did not get chosen. It is noteworthy that the USCCB vice president, Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, was not chosen by the conference since he will most likely step up to be the bishops’ president in November of 2024 just after the Synod on Synodality concludes. It would have helped him in fulfilling his responsibilities as conference president if he had experienced the synod. If the synod is a big success, the bishops may want to elect as president someone who was there. READ MORE

Please continue to pray for us, and for wisdom for me especially, as we continue taking steps to print the NTEB branded King James Bible for our free Bible and Bibles Behind Bars program. It is exciting and intimidating at the same time. If the Lord has prospered your financially, we ask you to donate to help us continue to send out free Bibles at this level, and even higher than we are at the moment. It takes a lot of prayer, and a lot of resources to do all this. Praise the Lord we are doing it, all of us together, labouring in the Lord’s harvest field. TO THE FIGHT!!!

When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Please pray for our efforts, and if the Lord leads you to donate, be as generous as possible. The war is REAL, the battle HOT and the time is SHORTTO THE FIGHT!!!
