UPS Strike Looms, Biden Allegations Released, and Tension Still High in Israel #shorts
Senator Chuck Grassley has released an unclassified memo alleging a “criminal bribery scheme” involving Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden for helping to fire a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating the Burisma company, where Hunter sat on the board. The White House says the allegations have been “debunked,” but the House Oversight Committee is scheduled to hear testimony this week.
UPS could be a week away from a national strike when its union contract expires at the end of July. The firm has more than 300,000 employees delivering 24 million packages a day. Workers are demanding better pay and working conditions.
And tensions remain high in Israel one day after the Knesset’s historic vote to stop the Supreme Court from using the “reasonableness” standard in judicial decisions. Demonstrations continued in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for “peace and mutual respect.”
