The Gila County Adult Detention Center is quite small, but the eyes of the Lord is  upon the inmates there and having us send King James Bibles

Globe is situated near the mid-point of the legendary Old West Highway that stretches from Apache Junction, Arizona east to Lordsburg, New Mexico. Known for its rich western historical past, Globe has been home to gunfighters, outlaws, Apaches, ranchers and miners. A 2020 census recorded that the population of that town was 7,249. It’s a tiny, little place at the backend of nowhere. Lt. Cindy Roberts from the Gila County Adult Detention Center wrote to tell us that they have 200 souls in desperate need of King James Bibles. She came to the right place.

“Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.” 2 Timothy 2:9 (KJB)

Her email began “I am a Lieutenant with the Gila County Adult Detention Center we are in a rural area and house between 150-200 people at a time. We are reaching out to see if there is any way to get a donation of bibles to provide to Inmates who are in our custody and looking to turn their lives around.” The Gila County Detention Center is located in a place virtually unknown by the 21st century, and it’s so small that, when passing through, if you blink you’ll miss it. But it’s not unknown to the eyes of the Lord, Who it seems would like us to send them about 300 King James Bibles in English and in Spanish which we are processing right now as you read this.

We are getting ready to celebrate one year of the Bibles Behind Bars program, and all the thousands of King James Bibles we have sent out through it. Different from our Free Bible Program, Bibles Behind Bars takes a targeted ‘shotgun’ approach to get cases of King James Bibles in where they’ve never been before. I am thrilled to be sending that Light to inmates in tiny Globe, Arizona, and ask you to pray for the souls detained there, that God would even now be preparing their hearts to receive these Bibles.
