3,000 Marines Sent to the Persian Gulf, Ohio Vote Today, and Strong Storms Hit the Northeast #shorts
The U.S. has deployed ships and planes, along with more than 3,000 Marines, to the Persian Gulf as a show of force to deter Iran from intimidating commercial vessels in the region. Tensions with Iran have risen as Tehran has grown increasingly aggressive in its harassment of naval vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.
Ohio voters go to the polls today to decide on a measure that would make it tougher for lawmakers to change the state’s constitution, with abortion at the center of the battle. A “yes” vote would make it harder for pro-abortion laws to be enshrined into state law.
And a series of storms in the eastern U.S. on Monday killed two people and left 11 million residents without power. Menacing clouds and a forecast of destructive weather sent thousands of federal workers home in Washington DC.
