Pence Qualifies for GOP Debate, Ohio Rejects Issue 1, and Protests Threaten Israeli Military #shorts
Ohio voters strongly rejected a measure Tuesday that would have made it more difficult to amend the state’s constitution. Abortion was at the center of the big-money battle. One pro-life group called it “a sad day for Ohio,” while President Joe Biden said it was a victory for democracy and for women.
Former Vice President Mike Pence said Tuesday he qualified to join the field for the first GOP debate in Milwaukee on August 23rd. Eight candidates have now qualified according to committee rules, but Former President Donald Trump, who leads the pack by a wide margin, may not attend.
And protests against the Israeli government have reached into the country’s military. Thousands of Defense Force reservists are threating to refuse to serve in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial reform plans.
