Former NFL star Michael Oher is making headlines this week with a lawsuit filed against the Tuohy family. He and the family were the subjects of the hit film The Blind Side, but Oher is now speaking out against both the family and the film. Members of the Tuohy family call the lawsuit hurtful, devastating, outlandish, and absurd.
Maui’s emergency services chief resigned Thursday after facing criticism for not activating warning sirens as wildfires ripped through the island. The search continues for over 1,000 unaccounted individuals in the burned-out areas of Maui. Questions surround what could have sparked the blazes and whether all communities on the island are getting equal aid.
And Hurricane Hillary is strengthening into a major storm over the Pacific and threatens to bring torrential rain and dangerous flooding to the southwestern United States.
