Romney Retiring, Search and Rescue in Libya, and Southern Border Hearings in Congress #shorts
Utah GOP Senator Mitt Romney says he’ll retire rather than seek a second term in 2024 and called on Donald Trump and Joe Biden to “step aside” for younger leaders.
Search and rescue teams in Libya are trying to recover thousands of bodies in the deluged coastal city of Derna, where at least 5,100 people are known to be dead, and 9,000 others are missing. Two dams collapsed during a cyclone, washing entire neighborhoods into the Mediterranean.
And congress held several hearings Wednesday on the U.S. southern border crisis amid concerns that human traffickers are exploiting America’s southern border. Former DHS agent Tim Ballard testified in one hearing that failure to secure the border benefits sex traffickers who bring children into the United States.
