Tentative Strike Agreement, Calls for Menendez’s Resignation, and Serbia-Kosovo Tensions #shorts
The Hollywood Writers Guild has announced a “tentative” agreement with major studios to end their strike that began in the spring. If the agreement holds, it could pave the way for a deal with the actors’ union, returning thousands of people to work.
A growing number of Democrats have called for the resignation of Democratic New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Menendez and his wife were indicted Friday on bribery charges.
And tensions between Serbia and Kosovo flared anew over the weekend when some 30 heavily armed Serbs barricaded themselves in an Orthodox monastery in northern Kosovo. The standoff set off a daylong gunbattle with police that left one officer and three attackers dead.
