We didn’t get dressed up, had no costumes, and wished no one a ‘happy Halloween’, we simply sat in our driveway in front of a John 3:16 sign, and gave a gospel tract and some candy to about 100 kids and their parents. What did you do?
We are living in the closing moments of the Church Age, and the Revelation 3:14-22 prophecy of the lukewarm Laodicean Church in the end times is ringing out loud and clear. I have been saved for 32+ years now, and never once did I imagine that I would see the day where Christians would be mocked and insulted for handing out gospel tracts to lost people. But nevertheless, here we are.
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15,16 (KJB)

Earlier today, I posted on social media the photo you see at the top of this article displaying a bowl of candy with a stack of Chick gospel tracts about Halloween. Last night, we sat in our driveway as a seemingly endless stream of children and parents paraded past, everyone in their Halloween costumes. When they came to our yard, we were there to greet them with warm smiles, candy, and a gospel tract telling them they are lost and headed for Hell, and how they can get saved. This is what Christians should be doing to reach the lost, yes? Apparently not. My post split people right down the middle, with half for handing out tracts on Halloween and half against. Half against witnessing and evangelizing for Jesus? They sure were, and passionately so. Halloween is absolutely the ‘Devil’s Holiday’, but guess what? We are called to plunder his kingdom and set the captives free, are we not?
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” Acts 26:18 (KJB)
I can well recall as a young unsaved child, getting dressed up for Halloween and going trick-or-treating in my old neighborhood, it was a lot like what we saw last night in ours here in Florida. I remember filling an entire pillowcase with a delectable assortment of delicious candy, how great was that? But how great would it have been if just one of those houses I stopped at would have put a gospel tract in my bag that warned me of Hell and told me how to get saved? How different might my life have been if I would have gotten saved as a child? But no one warned me. Last night you better believe we warned them.

Christian, these are the times we are living in. If you’re waiting for revival, stop, you need to be the revival. In Revelation 3:20,21, we are called to overcome the lukewarm Laodicean spirit that infects the Church in our day. Use every opportunity to witness Jesus Christ to lost people, that’s what Moody did. He didn’t listen to his critics who said his methods ‘cheapened the gospel’, he went out and did what God called him to do, and reached 100,000,000 people for the Lord, with around one million professing salvation.
Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.Only one life, yes only one, Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgment seat;
Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Time is running out, and soon you dear fellow Christian will give an account at the Judgment Seat of Christ, where Jesus will ask you why you stayed silent when the children came to your door. What will you tell Him in that day? Instead of working on your feeble excuses, why don’t you get off your seat warmer and get in the fight? Don’t wait too long, time will soon run out.
