Pause in Fighting, Potential Hold on Israeli Aid, and Rosalynn Carter Memorialized #shorts
Israel and Hamas will continue a pause for two days in the Gaza fighting as Israel hopes as many as 20 more hostages will be released. Eleven hostages were released Monday, including 2 mothers and 9 children. The White House admits it’s concerned about Hamas using the truce to regain military strength in Gaza.
Some Democrats in congress, including Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, are saying they’ll hold up a $14 billion Israel aid package unless the Biden administration limits how the IDF conducts its war against Hamas. Sanders is calling for an end to what he calls indiscriminate bombing.
And Rosalynn Carter will be memorialized today with hymns and her favorite biblical passages in a rare gathering of all living U.S. first ladies and multiple presidents. Her 99-year-old husband Jimmy Carter will be in attendance.
