Netanyahu Gaza Announcement, Christie Drops Out, and Iran Seizes Oil Tanker #shorts
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Wednesday that Israel has “no intention of permanently occupying Gaza.” His comments came after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made it clear that the Biden administration expects Gazan civilians to return soon and that a Palestinian state would provide the framework for Gaza’s future governance.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has officially dropped out of the Republican presidential race. Christie did not immediately endorse any of his rivals.
And Iran has seized an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman. The tanker had been at the center of a yearlong dispute between Tehran and Washington that ultimately saw the Justice department seized 1 million barrels of oil. The seizure comes after weeks of attacks from Iranian backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and will likely increase tensions across Mideast waterways.
