We’ve come such a long from me packing up Bibles in my apartment and taking them to the post office, to sending them out by the hundreds of thousands around the world through the NTEB Bookstore.
We got an email earlier today from Chaplain Greg at the Burleigh Morton Detention Center telling us about an urgent need for 100 soft-cover and medium to large print King James Bibles. In 2024 we are seeing a marked increase in requests for Bibles as other Bible-sending groups are no longer supplying jails and detention centers, just prisons only. The reason being that paper costs have skyrocketed, as has printing and shipping. Here at NTEB, we are feeling the squeeze as well, but completely trusting in the Lord to provide the increase as He knows we need it.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:9 (KJB)
As of this writing, the requests for Bibles are beginning to outpace donations coming in, but we are doing our best, by faith, to fill as many of those requests as possible. It is taking a little longer, but we are hopeful of being able to continue this very important aspect of our ministry. That’s where you come in.

The first thing we need you to do is pray and ask the Lord to keep His sustaining hands on the work, that’s first and foremost. Second, if the Lord has prospered you, we ask that you consider making a generous donation to Bible Behind Bars, in spite of the rising prices and challenging economy. I told the Lord from the beginning I wouldn’t focus on fundraising other than to let the need be known, trusting that He will provide the needs through His people. No games, no gimmicks, just an earnest following after the call the Lord has given us to fulfill our course. When you contribute to this fundraising effort, you are helping us to do what the Lord called us to do. The money you send in goes primarily to the overall daily operations of this site. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.
But whatever you do, don’t do nothing. Time is short and we need your help right now. The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ.
