UN Court Mum on Calls for Ceasefire, Alabama Nitrogen Gas Execution, and Trump Testifies #shorts
The United Nations’ top court has ordered Israel to do all it can to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in its military offensive in Gaza but stopped short of ordering a cease-fire. The ruling came after South Africa alleged that Israel’s campaign in Gaza amounted to genocide.
Alabama went forward with a first-of-its-kind nitrogen gas execution last night, which was criticized by several world bodies. Attorneys for inmate, Kenneth Eugene Smith, argued that the method violated the constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishments.
And on Thursday former President Donald Trump chose to testify in his defamation trial. His testimony lasted less than three minutes. While Trump has spoken openly about the case brought forward by advice columnist E. Jean Carroll, Thursday marked the first time he directly addressed a jury about her claims.
