Sinwar in Gaza’s Tunnels, Mayorkas Impeached, and Suozzi Wins Santos’ Seat #shorts
Israel is advancing into the Egyptian border city of Rafah as the U.S. works intensely with Egypt to secure the release of more than 100 Hamas-held hostages. The IDF also released footage reportedly showing its top target, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, in Gaza’s tunnels with his family.
On Tuesday, House Republicans voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, making him the first cabinet secretary to be impeached by the House since 1876. After a failed vote last week, Mayorkas was impeached 214-213 in a second vote. The motion is all but guaranteed to fail in the U.S. Senate.
And Democrat Tom Suozzi won a special election in New York for the seat formerly held by disgraced GOP congressman George Santos. Santos was expelled from Congress after he was indicted on multiple charges including allegations he stole money from Republican donors.
