Senate Poised to Pass Gun Reform Bill as Lawmakers Find Compromise with ‘Common Sense Solutions’


The U.S. Senate is moving towards a final vote on their bipartisan gun deal by this weekend.

The bill looks likely to pass the Senate and then it will go to the House.

The top two Republicans there – House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) oppose the measure.

Scalise said Congress must not infringe on Second Amendment rights in trying to stop violent crimes.
