Hurricane Lee Now Cat-5 Storm, NYC Mayor’s Migrant Warning, and NFL Season Kicks Off #shorts
Hurricane Lee jumped from a Category 2 to a Category 5 storm in a matter of hours Thursday, as it rolled toward the area north of the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico. The hurricane’s path is unclear, but some coastal residents on the Eastern seaboard could see dangerous rip tides as early as Sunday.
New York Mayor Eric Adams has warned that an influx of migrants will “destroy New York City.” At a Manhattan community meeting Wednesday, Adams said 110,000 asylum-seekers have come to the city since April of last year, contributing to a $12 billion budget deficit.
And the NFL season officially kicked off last night. The Detroit Lions rallied for a 21-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs to ruin the Super Bowl champions’ celebration on opening night.
