U.S and Britain Strike Iranian Proxies, Border and Aid Bill, and Powell Telegraphs Rate Cuts #shorts
U.S. and British jets attacked Iranian proxies in Syria, Iraq and Yemen over the weekend in response to attacks on commercial shipping and on a U.S. military base in Jordan, where three service members died. National Security Director Jake Sullivan warned of severe consequences if Iran directly strikes U.S. interests.
Senators have released a highly anticipated bill that pairs border enforcement policy with wartime aid for Ukraine and Israel. The bill is a long-shot effort to overcome skepticism from Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, who quickly dismissed its chance of passage.
And Chair Jerome Powell said in an interview broadcast Sunday night that the Federal Reserve remains on track to cut interest rates three times this year, a move that’s expected to begin as early as May.
