Car Attack in Jerusalem, Aid Package Approved, and Israeli Intelligence Director Resigns #shorts
Israeli police said they have arrested two people after a car slammed into pedestrians in Jerusalem on Monday, wounding three. Palestinians have carried out periodic attacks on Israeli cities and towns since the country’s war against Hamas began on Oct. 7.
The US House approved a $95 billion aid package for Ukraine and Israel in a rare weekend session. The session saw Democrats and Republicans work together to push the bill past hard-right opposition. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised Speaker Mike Johnson, who risked his job for pushing the package through.
And the head of Israel’s military intelligence directorate has resigned over Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva, the head of Israel’s military intelligence, becomes the first senior Israeli figure to step down over the failures surrounding Hamas’ attack.
